Equal pay law compares people doing equal work or work of equal value, not people with the same job title. Article 4 names the four criteria for that comparison: skills, effort, responsibility and working conditions. This builder scores your roles on all four, groups them into value bands, and hands those bands to the Pay Gap Report as its categories of workers.
Nothing you enter here leaves this device. There is no upload and no account. Your roles and scores are kept only in this browser so you can come back to them, and the button at the end of the page erases them.
List each distinct role once, one per line, using the job titles in your payroll system. Matching titles matter: the Pay Gap Report uses them to place each employee in a value band.
Titles in English or Icelandic both work. Duplicates are merged. Around 5 to 60 roles is typical for one evaluation.
Each of the four criteria has two sub-criteria, so every role gets eight scores. Score the role, not the person who holds it, and score what the role demands every day rather than on its most unusual day. The guide below defines every level so that two people scoring the same role arrive at the same number.
Each criterion must count for between 10 and 40 percent, and the four must add up to 100. Weighting choices are the most common place for bias to enter a job evaluation, so be specific: name the feature of your work that justifies the weight.
